Abstract :
In this paper, the requirements of the internal data communication network of a modular comprehensive automation system for substations are described. Then, some technical difficulties encountered during the hardware and software design of the network are discussed. Finally, a data communication scheme among multiple computers is proposed. The main point of the scheme is using the embedded serial port of the series of MCS-96 single chip microcomputer working at different modes. This scheme is proved practical in use for its successful implementation in several power substations
