  • Abstract
A new approach is proposed to use object oriented techniques and improved genetic algorithms in developing software to design, simulate and model an excitation control system. An example is used to illustrate the feasibility of this approach. The excitation control system is modelled by using both a three-phase representation and transfer function approach. The thyristor exciter offers possibilities for improving dynamic/transient performance
