Abstract
We introduce Sonar, a system that we developed to simplify the monitoring of our cloud testbed infrastructure. It allows flexible monitoring of time series as well as application log data without extensive configuration of Sensor types and hosts to supported cloud typical short-lived VMs as well. Data is stored in HBase so that down sampling or deletion is not necessary. Applications access data through a network service which is as simple as opening a CSV file.
