Abstract
This paper reviews recent progress in random fiber lasers (RFLs), including fundamental studies on their physical characteristics, design and analysis, as well as their applications, i.e., novel lasers, sensing, and amphfication indicating that RFLs would have an impact on Fiber Optics. Furthermore, the research progress in RFLs at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) is presented.
