Abstract :
The involute gear is the most widely used gear currently. In the process of mechanical design, we need to determine its geometry size and set up its CAD three-dimensional modeling. Although the 3D modeling function of CATIA is very strong, it is cumbersome to set up the accurate 3d model of involute gear in order to get the relatively high accuracy involute. This article aims to seek a kind of modeling method which is concise and ensures the involute´s accuracy via studying the current modeling method of involute gear. We use VB to parameterize the three-dimensional modeling of involute gear established by CATIA and develop appropriate software to set up the model fast and efficiently.
