  • Abstract
    This paper researches the problem of energy efficient optimization for the measurement of wireless sensor nodes. Based on Clustering, the metric of network measurement coverage and communicate energy consumption are established. In this paper, we propose a Distributed Clustering Algorithm (DCA) which is based on the use of predicted combined criteria metric. In DCA algorithm, the sensor calculates its combined criteria metric according to connectivity, coverage, mobility and residual energy, after that each sensor node uses its history combined criteria information to predict the current combined criteria based on heuristic predictors. Our proposed algorithm uses adequate criterion for cluster-head election in conjunction with heuristic predictors to generate steady and balanced clusters. The simulation experiments show that comparing to existed algorithm, the network measurement coverage is getting higher and the communicate energy consumption is getting lower.
