Abstract :
A simple method to generate millimeter-wave signal is proposed and demonstrated. In our scheme, by configuring a multiple modulation loop, a wideband optical comb with good stability is obtained, and then the millimeter-wave signal is generated based on the beating in a high-speed photodetector of the optical carrier and the nth-order optical sideband filtered out by a Fabry-Perot filter. The experiments are demonstrated and 60 GHz millimeter wave with narrow linewidth is easily generated.
