Abstract :
Digital-controlled analog beamforming, which has both low cost advantage of analog beamforming and high flexibility advantage of digital beamforming, is becoming more and more attractive to wireless communication systems. Currently, the algorithm to do antenna weight training for MIMO multipath channel has very high complexity, it needs either complex MIMO channel estimation or matrix inverse, or both of them. In this paper, we propose a new two-layer iterative algorithm to train the antenna weight for the MIMO multipath channel. With this algorithm, the converged antenna weights can generate multiple beams to the directions that have strong multipaths. The simulations show the effectiveness of the newly proposed algorithm.
