Abstract
GRANDiose, a distributed application system running on cooperating servers throughout a computer network, is presented. Its purpose is to enhance, broaden, and speed the transfer of information among people by using the power of computers and the connective breadth of computer networks. The initial design of its computer conferencing application and some of the thinking behind the design are discussed. The comments received from users over a three-year period are categorized and analyzed. Some of the significant observations are summarized.<>
