Abstract
BITMap is a framework model used to manage complexity in the area of information technology and information systems. On one hand, it is a model managing this complexity, and on the other hand the model may be used as a kernel of methods for different purposes. A complete methodology applying it is developed for business analysis and IT strategy design. Other uses include planning of continuing education courses and planning of training. BITMap is implemented as a hypertext document in a PC/Windows environment. The paper describes the key elements and principles of BITMap. Some examples are given to describe the applications of the model
