Abstract :
Regulations had restricted the use of restricted chemical substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Manual checking of all the products for chemical substances is difficult. In order to avoid and to manage great variety of chemical substances a system is constructed. The system consist of Chemical Substance Management System (CSM) that lists regulated chemical substances in a product, a database to register information of the chemical substances and a computer aided design system. The system relates the part configuration of product to the chemical contents of each part and automatically evaluates whether products contain regulated chemicals or not. The system has reduced the evaluation time to 1/10 and enabled real-time evaluation during the design stage.
