The introduction of information technology in the EAC and reengineering of its services

For a modern organization IT is a powerful tool or even a revolutionary tool. In the hands of the expert and in the right organizational environment the tool of IT can perform miracles. Ideally the old must change or sometimes be erased to give way to the new master, its following and its new way of doing things. Reengineering must thus accompany the introduction of IT for the organization to reap the full benefits of the new technology. The aim of this paper is to show that IT can find many applications in the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) and when accompanied by reengineering could bring many benefits
