Abstract
In this paper the possibilities for sustainable services in convenience stores in Japan were explored and identified. More specifically, the possible ways to attain sustainable consumption were explored and also a specific case study for promotion of a mere eco-efficient system of services in convenience stores was identified. The possible initiatives for implementation of eco-efficient services in convenience stores lay in the use of distribution system of products and services through integrated information technology, This initiative can encourage rethinking and re-designing of product-services mix and assist the development of successful sustainable services system.
