Abstract
This paper describes a system which has been developed by ScottishPower Technology Business to provide a monitoring system to primarily to meet the need of their major generating plant at Longannet (UK) which comprises 4 off 600 MW coal-fired units. The system has since been developed to interface to other more proprietary systems. Two such instances of this are: a bi-directional interface to an industry standard SCADA package; and an export link to a data gateway. The paper reviews the development of ScottishPower´s approach to rotating plant condition monitoring, and goes on to describe how the developed online condition monitoring system has been interfaced to other systems, and how it will provide information which will be of interest to plant asset managers
