Abstract :
In this paper we present a novel approach to create a dual frequency band of a new sectoral antenna design combining two-layered metallic electromagnetic band gap (M-EBG) materials as a superstrate, thus making it possible to circumvent the narrow bandwidth problem. This antenna operates according to a sectoral radiation pattern form presenting a half power beamwidth of at least 60deg. The geometry and working of the antenna are detailed and a design method is proposed.
