Abstract :
Brass C26000, (CuZn30) was annealed within the temperature range of 200-700°C, at different cooling rates, inside the furnace and in air. A correlation between the heat treatment, microstructure was evaluated; the tensile test and metallographic observations were carried out. The hardness was also measured. The investigations concerning the mechanical properties permitted to determine the effect of the temperature of recrystallization annealing on the strength and plastic properties of the investigated brass, increase of the annealing temperature within the range of 400-650°C results in a deterioration of the mechanical properties of the brass CuZn30 and an increase of its plastic properties, which is fulfil the purpose of this investigation to determine optimum annealing condition for sheet metal forming.
