Abstract :
In the paper, a novel structure for two-dimensional finite impulse response systems is proposed. The technique is based on orthogonal approach known from one-dimensional domain. Obtained structure is realized using Givens rotations, possibly multiplication by -1, and multiplexed unit delays. Presented technique is illustrated by a design of Gaussian image filter which was implemented in Verilog language. Simulation results of its impulse responses as well as exemplary image filtration results are also included.
