Abstract :
A microfabricated polymer (PDMS: polydimethylsiloxane)- based microchip for capillary gel electrophoresis is presented. The chip can be easily produced by a simple and inexpensive molding and sealing method in low cost. The capillary channel on the chip was partially filled with agarose gel that can enhance separation resolution and can shorten channel length required for separation. The chip can be used as an disposable apparatus for biomedical analysis. DNA molecules were successfully driven by electric field and separated to form bands on agarose gel-filled PDMS microchip
