Abstract
This paper presents a new approach based on iterative learning to tune PID controllers. The method is simple, and it has a fast and reliable convergence. Some examples illustrate its advantages and flexibility in dealing with the problem of tuning a PID controller for a wide set of processes. These examples also include the tuning given by the Ziegler-Nichols method
