Abstract
This paper deals with the advanced design of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) for use in a high speed machine tool in turbo blower system. We apply the transfer relations theorem (TRT) to determine the permanent magnet (PM) size and calculate power losses for the motor characteristic. The PWM inverter circuit analysis is conducted to obtain the temperature and harmonic distribution within the PMSM. We examine the results using finite element method (FEM) analysis and validate them by experimental measurements.
