Abstract
This talk will address -without giving definitive answers- questions related to the evolution of the ICT and the technical as well as market trends in the networking and media industries. Special emphasis is given to the impact of globalization and the interdependency between national economies and the global dynamics. The “Smarter Planet” initiative will also be highlighted.
