Abstract
This paper investigates a new direct torque control (DTC) strategy for induction machine based on particle swarm optimization (PSO). The PSO was used to adjust the parameters (Kp, Ki, Kd) of PID controller. The scheme improves the adjustive capability of PID controller. The new direct torque controlled strategy is considered in detail and it is shown that the use of PSO-PID controller decrease the electromagnetic torque ripple and increase system rapidity and stability. Finally, the strategy was implemented using TMS320F240 digital signal processor on a 370 W Induction Motor drive. Experimental results illustrate that the system has a better dynamic and steady characteristics.
