Abstract :
Acoustic resonance phenomenon has been the main problem for the development of electronic ballast for high intensity discharge lamps operating at high frequency (Fs > 20 kHz). One of the proposals to solve this problem is the application of the frequency modulation. In this paper an exhaustive analysis of the modulation frequency technique using periodic signals is carried out in order to analyze their effectiveness in the elimination of the acoustic resonances in HID lamps.
