Abstract
The human body sends signals that reveal the condition (state of health) of its internal systems. These signals sometimes are very difficult to detect or quantify because special equipment designed for this purpose is required. Intestinal noises (IN) are such signals and give useful information that may be used in the prevention and treatment of intestinal diseases. To alleviate this problem, the design of a system for detecting, storing and analyzing IN is presented. It is shown that long time records are possible due to the use of a data compression algorithm and a noise canceller filter
