Abstract
Using a high-speed frame camera, the behavior of the partial arc on triangular ice samples was studied under AC voltage. The relationship between the radius of partial arc root and the leakage current was determined. Based on the model developed in our previous studies and the results obtained in the present work, the model was improved and used to calculate the flashover voltage of ice-covered insulators. This model takes into account the variation of arc root radius with leakage current. It was shown that there was a good concordance between the results calculated from the model and the laboratory results
