  • Abstract
In this paper, a network flow model in the economic dispatching of cascade hydroelectric power stations is established. This paper presents a preliminary flow algorithm which uses practical data that reflect the relationship between natural incoming water of the cascade with the maximum installed unit capacity and the distribution of power output among all cascades. Beginning with the distribution of power output, using an iteration method and rectifying deviation, a practical preliminary flow is gained. This algorithm is realized in the economic dispatching of a practical 380 MW four-cascade hydropower station, the results are satisfied, and an example is given in this paper
