Abstract
Adaptive control theories are used here to approach the problem of voltage/current sharing uniformly of GTOs working in series/parallel. The parallel frame of a model reference adaptive control system is adopted. The mathematical model is built up from a GTO´s characteristic curve which is given by manufacturers. A method of estimation of GTO parameters is determined. Finally, the control system is designed and an adaptive control rule is searched using Lyapunov theory
