Abstract :
A description is given of a business process modeling technique called IDEF0 (IDEF stands for integrated computer-aided manufacturing definition). Attention is given to an exercise that used IDEF0 for business simplification and requirements generation. The author discusses the environment and commitment that made that exercise a success. The approach discussed constitutes a compromise that allows the user to create a requirements document that is understandable by both the user and the system developer, in a more efficient development cycle. The author also discusses the steps that are necessary in the future to continue improving the development cycle
