Abstract :
Analytical descriptions are presented for asymmetric groove guide antennas with the equivalent network method. In the analysis the electromagnetic fields are described in terms of transmission-line networks, which brings considerable physical insight into the overall behavior of the leaky wave antenna. The expressions are in simple closed form and are utilized to analyze the guidance and leakage characteristics of asymmetric groove guide antennas. Two asymmetric groove guide antennas are proposed and their leakage performances are systematically investigated. The accuracy of the present analysis is verified by comparisons with the results obtained by the mode-matching method.
