Abstract :
The recent advances in millimeter-wave communications have called for parallel development of compact and efficient antennas. This paper addresses the design and performance of a high gain on-chip cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna on conducting silicon. The integrated antenna has a return loss of 46 dB, with an impedance bandwidth of 1720 MHz at 59.96 GHz, while the gain and radiation efficiency of the antenna reached about 3.2 dB and 51% respectively.
