Abstract :
In this paper, a localization system for unknown emitter nodes in a wireless sensor network (WSN) system is presented. For this system, it is assumed that there are four anchor nodes with known locations and one or more unknown nodes which transmit RF signals that can be received by the four anchor nodes. The only available information to the system is the received signal strength indicator which is in general not very accurate. To obtain better estimated location of the sensor nodes, the particle swarm optimization (PSO) scheme that can be realized in real time is investigated in this paper. Both simulation and experimental results of the proposed approach are presented.
