Abstract :
Regional-oriented social network services (R-SNSs) are being developed for sharing regional-oriented information. In prior work, the authors proposed a new dispatch and navigation model (DN model) -based system. The DN model was used for dispatching regional-oriented information to some access points and then navigating mobile users from one of the access points to a destination. The access points were defined as places that the users can acquire the regional-oriented information. The destination was defined as a place that was strongly related to the information. The dispatching function is the most essential for constructing the DN model-based information sources because of finding multiple access points. This paper evaluates and discusses the applicability of the proposed dispatching function for constructing the DN model-based information sources. The applicability is clarified from the following viewpoints: (1) the frequency of geocodes in the information sources based on the proposed system and several conventional R-SNSs, and (2) the accuracy of the results of the proposed and conventional dispatching functions for the DN model. The evaluation and discussion are performed through a practical examination of constructing an actual DN model-based information source.
