Abstract :
Whispering gallery resonators (WGRs) made of electro-optic crystals are suitable for the realization of widely tunable microwave photonic filters as well as electro-optical modulators. We review recent progress in the field and discuss possible solutions of problems related to design and fabrication of narrow-band widely tunable high- order filters based on high-Q LiNbO3 WGRs and demonstrate fifth-order filter function with the resonators.
