Abstract
It is important to preserve fine scale features such as texture in the process of denoising. In this paper, we first propose a new variational model for image denoising based on fractional-order derivative instead of the gradient of image, and then give a numerical algorithm for solving the model based on the discrete fractional difference. The numerical results show that our model can not only better improve the peak signal to noise ratio of noisy image but also perform better for preserving more fine scale features in the process of denoising.
