Abstract :
In order to get Micro-gear image edge fast and accurately, a new algorithm based on Mathematics morphologic is proposed in the paper. Morphological theory is used for image segmentation so as to obtain the internal and external structure of the image; when the two parts edges are detected respectively, the whole image edge is obtained correspondingly. In this paper, the basic theory of mathematical morphology is introduced firstly; then, the proposed edge detection algorithm based on the theory mentioned above is highlighted; at last, to show the effect of the proposed algorithm, many experiments are done to compare it with other methods on the edge detection of the Micro-gear images. Experimental result shows the proposed approach not only spend less time, but also obtain more accurate edge.
