Abstract :
The gyrotron consists of a 20 T superconducting magnet, a demountable gyrotron tube, a triode-type magnetron injection gun, and a sapphire output window. Additional coils are installed surrounding the electron gun centered at the emitter to adjust the beam radius and beam quality at the cavity region. The operation conditions of the cavity modes at second harmonic were investigated through the numerical experiments performed using a multi-mode time-dependent computer code.It is expected that the novel gyrotron will be able to the emit radiation at record of high frequency and unprecedented high output power for such frequency range.
