Abstract
The problem of selecting the best basis function for detecting peaks of the brainstem evoked potentials, is analyzed. No new wavelet function is proposed; instead, the existing basis functions are reviewed and the one with the best correlation coefficient with the points of interest is chosen for application on a digitally implemented filter
