On the Tendency of Arousing Mental States with Strong Emotion by Presenting Audiovisual Materials

This paper discusses the stimulation of the subject´s strong emotions in presenting audiovisual materials. The mental states aroused are charity, nostalgia, nobility, and passion. Audiovisual materials are presented to subjects. The degrees of the mental states with strong emotion and the kinds of mental states are experimentally obtained. The experimental results show that different types of emotion were evoked by presenting audiovisual materials. The tendency of arousing the mental states with strong emotion is examined from the tendency of audiovisual materials used in the experiment.
