Abstract
An adaptive observer based on a simplified thermodynamic mathematical model of a premature infant was developed in order to estimate baby´s core temperature. The adaptive observer adapts its parameters accordingly with the difference between the estimated and measured skin temperatures. The adaptive observer validation showed that estimated rectal and brain temperature responses present not important deviations respect to their reference values environment
