Abstract :
The refractory period, especially the absolute refractoriness, needs to be considered when studying the pulse train transmission at the gap junction of the giant motor synapse of the crayfish. This paper reports a theoretical analysis on the probability density function of the output interpulse intervals (IPIs) by taking into account the effect of the absolute refractory period at the post-membrane. The result in this paper should be useful in the study of biological neural networks
