Abstract
In this paper, the effect of finite signal word lengths on the bit error rate (BER) performance of complementary code keying (CCK) modem in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and Rayleigh fading channels is investigated. The 2-bit, 4-bit, 6-bit and 8-bit word lengths are considered for their performance comparison. The performance results are also compared to that of a floating-point implementation. These performances has been evaluated through simulation studies and validated by theoretical analysis.
