Abstract
We suggest an automatic fat range setting method in computed tomography (CT) images for body fat measurement. We fitted the histograms of Hounsfield unit (HU) values at subcutaneous and abdominal regions in CT images as gaussian functions providing the body fat range as a function of its width and position. Since this method gives different body fat range according to the measured persons and regions, it reflects their characteristic very well
