  • Abstract
RADAR techniques are very useful for several applications, in particular for Defence activities. They deliver a “picture” of the environment (SAR) allowing detection, tracking and even recognition of targets (ISAR) whatever the weather. But in order to be exploited, they have to fulfil some specific requirements such as real-time running, storage constraint, transmission time, carrier integration... Moreover, the interpretation of the information, such as that contained in a SAR image is not straightforward. This presentation aims to give an overview of several RADAR signal processing techniques, highlighting the constraints scientists have to cope with, when dealing with particular applications such as military activities.
