Abstract :
A new type of broad-wall directional coupler is developed. By an eigenvalue-based approach and odd- and even-mode approach, the relationship of the coupling value, and the dimensions of the coupling section, and the phase relationship of the output ports are presented. Mode-matching theory is applied, and no additional tuning elements are needed. The experimental data demonstrates good performance.
