Abstract :
This paper presents a novel inward collateral coupled line balun. The new design exhibits an effective and simple way to improve the narrow spacing in between the coupled-line of the conventional planar Marchand balun. New structure of λ/4 collateral coupled-line is developed to improve by at least ten times the spacing over the traditional planar Marchand balun. The measured results show good performance and fine agreements with simulated data.
