Abstract :
A narrow band technique for pulse echo attenuation and velocity measurements are presented. Freshly excised human breast, thyroid, spleen, uterus, colon and abdominal mass specimen were examined both histologically and acoustically. The goals were to find the correlation´s between normal or pathologic conditions of the tissue and the acoustic parameters. A signal processing procedure is described which estimates the value of an acoustic attenuation. A nonlinear minimum phase model is developed to simulate attenuation on these tissues
