Abstract :
The environmental conditions along with user mobility obstruct the reliability analysis of mobile computing system. The methods to provide reliability rely on a modeling approach that recognizes the effects of node mobility. Consequently, a Monte Carlo simulation method is proposed in this paper that accounts for node mobility, node reliability and hence predicts the resultant all operating terminal reliability of the network as well as coverage. We have also considered recoverable faults at nodes as the computing potential of the wireless network is often hampered by failures. This approach also covers imperfect nodes, their handoff rates and uses tolerance of disconnection interval to distinguish between disconnection due to node failure and disconnection due to node movement (moving outside the network). Smooth Random Mobility Model is used to estimate node location in time showing the effect on overall system reliability. This paper discusses a reliability estimation model to calculate all operating terminal reliability (AOTR) and network coverage of fault tolerant wireless network. We have shown that the AOTR is a function of time, node mobility, and network infrastructure.
