Abstract :
The impact of high-temperature-superconductor (HTS) technology onto future Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) radio base stations is discussed. It is shown that HTS-technology offers advanced RF prefiltering capabilities which can be used to obtain significantly increased dynamic range and sensitivity in W-CDMA multicarrier receivers. Furthermore it provides a mean to cope with extremely high selectivity requirements for combined FDD and TDD operation
