  • Abstract
This project´s goal was to design, build, and test a simulation program to test and troubleshoot a PLC-operated cream yeast feeder. A cream yeast feeder is a storage and supply system that feeds yeast to a batching system in a large bakery. The PLC controls electrical devices such as pumps and valves, and monitors the system´s status. The simulator emulates the system in such a way that the PLC reacts to to simulated data as if it were connected hardwired devices. Engineers will be able to test the PLC for installation before going to the job site, thereby minimizing cost. The simulator consists of a graphic interface indicating the control state of all electrical devices and feedback to the PLC. It also includes a screen to manually input alarm conditions to test and verify the PLC´s responses
