Abstract
The paper describes a new type of electronic medical record system called the Patient Information Folder or PIF. This is a full multi-media EMR system which is capable of supporting a very wide range of data types (waveforms, text, images, video clips) under different formats-as well as DICOM. The system has undergone clinical trials in a variety of medical environments in different geographical locations world-wide. The results of these trials are presented
